 | West Somerset District Council The West Somerset District stretches from the mouth of the River Parrett in the north-east, with the boundary running south-westwards inland across Somerset to meet the County border with Devon on Exmoor; it then follows the County border to arrive at the coast between Lynton and Porlock. The northern side of the District thus comprises of some 32 miles of varied coastline providing a contrast to the diversified range of countryside to be found inland. Two thirds of the District is within the Exmoor National Park with a large proportion of the balance within the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
